WEBSITE DATA
This website is designed to collect as little personal information as practical. Black Latch Studios LLC does not currently operate user accounts, advertising profiles, or direct payment processing on this website.
CONTACT
If you email Black Latch Studios LLC, we receive the information you choose to include in that message so we can respond to you and maintain appropriate business records.
EMAIL TRANSMISSIONS
The email opt-in on this website does not submit your address to the website or store it in the site itself. It opens your device's email application with a prepared request addressed to Black Latch Studios. We receive your address only if you choose to send that message. If you request studio transmissions, we use the address to send those updates and maintain the subscription record. You can withdraw your request at any time by replying with “unsubscribe.”
HOSTING AND TECHNICAL LOGS
Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request timestamps, and security logs for purposes including delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and security.
LOCAL PREFERENCES AND TYPING PROGRESS
The site may use browser storage to remember whether you enabled optional interaction sound and whether the brief opening sequence has already played during your current browsing session. BLACK LATCH // TYPE also stores the baseline you enter, lesson progress, typing performance, and trainer preferences in your browser so you can continue practicing. This training record stays on your device; the trainer does not send it to Black Latch Studios. You can reset it from the trainer's Record view or remove it with your browser's site-data controls.
BL//60 CHALLENGE
When you choose to take the competitive BL//60 challenge, this browser stores an anonymous identity token used to recognize your personal best. The challenge sends your chosen display name, one-time run identifier, typing events and timing to the site for score verification. The full key event record is processed for that submission and is not retained in the leaderboard database. We keep a pseudonymous player identifier, a hash of the identity token, display name, run metadata, and result statistics. Qualified scores, display names, WPM and accuracy appear on the public leaderboard. Clearing browser site data removes your token and access to that identity but does not automatically remove a public score. Request score removal at admin@blacklatchstudios.com.
OFFLINE CACHE
If supported by your browser, the site may store copies of its public pages and visual assets on your device so it loads faster and can show a basic offline page if your connection drops. You can remove this cache using your browser's site-data controls.
PRIVACY-FOCUSED SITE MEASUREMENT
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views and real-world page performance so we can identify broken or slow experiences. The measurement beacon is designed not to use cookies, local storage, or cross-site user profiles. Black Latch Studios does not use it for behavioral advertising.
COOKIES
This website does not intentionally set advertising cookies or use third-party behavioral advertising.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The website links to external community and social platforms, including Discord, Reddit, TikTok and Threads. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
